Dr. Peterson graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in honors history, and earned his medical degree at Northwestern University in Chicago. He completed his residency in family medicine at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale and a fellowship in sports medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He entered private practice in 2002, and was one of the original founders of Arizona Sports Medicine Center in 2004. He is board-certified in sports medicine and family medicine. Dr. Peterson is a team physician for the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Suns, the Chicago Cubs, the U.S. Ski Team and Mountain View High School. He was named a Top Doc by PHOENIX Magazine in sports medicine for 2010, 2011 and every year since 2014.
