Eric Gifford, MD, is a board-certified sports medicine and family medicine physician. Dr. Gifford is the founder of 417 Sports Medicine & Orthopedics located in Springfield, Missouri.
Dr. Gifford’s passion for sports medicine and orthopedics started long before his medical career. After graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, he even opened his own motorcycle shop. As a motocross enthusiast, Dr. Gifford suffered his fair share of musculoskeletal injuries growing up.
His experience and his expertise make him uniquely qualified to care for all types of musculoskeletal injuries and degenerative conditions. Eventually, Dr. Gifford recognized his talents to serve his community better as a physician and quickly enrolled in the Medical University of the Americas in Charlestown, Nevis, where he served as the student body president.
After earning his Doctor of Allopathic Medicine degree, Dr. Gifford completed his family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee. He later completed a sports medicine fellowship at the world-renowned Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee.
